Latest News From Adam:

This season has been littered with more bad luck than any other in my career. But I still have some
positives to take out of this year going into next season so that is what I am going to focus on in the
off season.

After the Monday night win at the Fairgrounds I went back to Marshalltown to try to back it up with
another win, but on the second lap of the feature another competitor spun in front of me sending me
to the pits with a flat and no yellow flag to allow me to get back into the action.

Then we decided to go to the Boone Speedway to get a night in before the Supernationals. That
decision also turned out to be kind of a bad one. I made the invert in my heat from the back and
started way back in the main but once the green flag dropped I put my car on the cushion and it was
by far the fastest car I have ever had at Boone as well as the class of the field that night, but about
six laps into the feature I had already passed 8 – 10 cars and a group of cars in front of me got into a
car stopping on the front stretch and I was left with nowhere to go. I bent the front bumper, nose bar,
nose, lower a frame, spindle, shock and ripped off the shock mount on the right front. I was not
happy with the result but I did have some serious confidence for the Supernationals.

The next week at Marshalltown I went out for hot laps on a track that was really sloppy and I slipped
up the track and hooked the guardrail with my right rear and bent the rear end bad enough to end
our night early.

After changing out our rear end housing we were off to Webster City where I had to start in the back
of my heat and made the invert, however, I drew the worst pill in the bucket so I started shotgun on
the field and was able to work my way up to fifth on a track that was hard to pass on. I would like to
have gotten a chance to race with the leaders but it was a finish, which I desperately needed.

I took the next weekend off to get my car ready for the Supernationals, and I was going into that long
week feeling really good about my car, as long as I got some good draws, I didn’t see any reason that
I couldn’t be one of the front runners.

On Wednesday, the first night of qualifying, I blew my good motor up on the third lap of the heat race,
ending my night early.

On Thursday I started second row of my heat and worked my way into second early, with the track
being almost impossible to make a clean pass on, I hounded the leader but he didn’t make any
mistakes which he would have needed to in order for me to pass him, so I settled for second. That
lined me up on the front row of the B main for points only and I ran away with a large win in that and in
the mean time posting the second fastest lap of the week for the modifieds.

On Friday I started in the fourth row of my heat and could only get to third by the end of the race, so
that lined me up on the fifth row in the B main. I got to fourth in the ten lap event which didn’t net me
a lot of points for Saturday’s last chance races. With the passing on the track being at an all time, and
after seeing my starting position being so far back in my last chance heat, I decided to save my car
and go to the Iowa State vs. UNLV Football game instead.

My car was impressive enough to catch the eye of a couple of my competitors and I was able to sell
my car to a gentleman in Texas. With the way my luck has been, I didn’t want to take a chance on
racing and possibly wrecking my car before I could deliver my car to Texas so I decided to call the
Supernationals my last event for the year. I was able to raise enough money on the car sale to put my
Late Model together, which I will be starting to assemble by the first part of November.

My focus next season will be on the IMCA Late Model Rookie of the year and I will be competing at
the Iowa State Fair Speedway and the Hamilton County Speedway as well as some selected Deery
Bros events throughout the season.

I would like to thank everyone for his or her support this season and look forward to a new challenge
next year, I hope you all will be along for the ride as well!!!
