(see pictures below from Webster City)

Friday night at Des Moines was pretty non eventful on the 18th. I finished 2nd in my heat and lined up 4th
row for the feature. I had another bad start and fell back a little, but once the race got going I worked my
way to finish 7th and was going really good by the end of the race but everyone was spread out and it
was hard to make a lot of passes.

Saturday night I had a lot better night, I finished 3rd in my heat and lined up 4th row inside for the
feature. The track was getting slick and had a little moisture clear up to the top and all the way on the
bottom. They dropped the green and I stuck to the bottom as we were passing the cars on the top one by
one.

By lap 5 I was in 5th and we had a yellow, so that opened up the top of the track on the restart so I
decided to make a go of it up there. At the drop of the green I went high and passed the 4th place car
and in the next corner I pulled along side of 3rd place. We had another yellow which lined me up in 4th,
so by this time I knew how fast my car was on the cushion and everyone in front of me was hugging the
tires so my mouth was watering.

Again at the drop of the green I went to the top and passed the 3rd place car and pulled along side of
2nd place in turns three and four. I completed the pass and powered by the leader on the next lap and
kept my car against the cushion in 1 and 2 and kept my car rolling free on the top in the dry slick 3 and 4.
Nobody challenged me in the final 18 laps and I captured my first career IMCA Late Model feature win!!!

I won my first modified win in my 6th night in a modified, and it took me 8 nights to win in my Late Model
so I met my goal for winning 1 feature this season a lot earlier then I had expected. I was also able to
increase my IMCA National Rookie of the Year points lead, so I am on my way to meeting that goal as well.

This past weekend on the 25 at Des Moines, I ran 2nd in my heat and was running 5th in the feature when
my rear end gear broke on a restart with 3 laps to go. I ended up 12th with my first DNF of the season

The next night with rain threatening, we took a chance and drove up to Webster City and luckily it didn’t
rain and we got the whole show in. I was horrible in my heat, finishing almost last, which lined my up in
the 8th row with a long night ahead of me. I again started working the high side in the feature and
worked all the way up to 6th with a few laps left, and the two cars in front of me got together and checked
up. In the mean time I was right on their bumper and got into the 5th place car and allowed 3 cars by,
after we crossed the start/finish line the yellow came out and they had put me behind those cars for the
restart with 3 to go. I was able to rally and finish 8th right behind my friend Jeremy Grady, so after all that
I was pretty happy with the performance, considering where I started.

It’s Memorial Day weekend and I am pumped to go to the Boone Speedway for my first Deery Bros. event
on Monday the 28th. It will also be my fist time on a ¼ mile with my Late Model so it should be exciting
and I will get to see how I stack up with some of the other cars that I don’t normally get to race with.
Thanks for taking time to check up on my season and don’t forget to get one of the new tee shirts which
have been really popular at the tracks and on my website.
